Week#1 Orientation to the Course & Creating an Academic Bl

Hello everyone!
I feel so lucky to be given this opportunity to take part in such one of a kind online course! This is my first blog ever!   I feel so proud and fulfilled to have created and owned one thanks to the online Web Skills class at Oregon State University. I have learnt so much this first week and read a lot about this technology and how to utilize it in class and become a big fan of it.

The course has proved an urgent refreshment and boost to my career as an ESL instructor.   I feel elated to be a member of this "boot camp" and to work with so many professionals, who with their unique experiences, contributions and thoughts will further enrich the content of the course and make the whole experience memorable.   I feel very ecstatic and lucky to have the pleasure of "virtually" meeting and working with every one of them!

I am so thrilled about the idea of having a blog of my own and using it as a teaching tool.   I faced a few challenges at the start with design and making a decision on the content.   However, once I started writing, I could not stop typing and expressing my pleasure and enthusiasm about this great technology.

Utilizing it as a potential educational tool will enhance the students' learning outcomes and assist them to show their talents and realize their full potential.   Once introduced to this technology and taught how to use it, I am sure students will be as excited as I am now about it and all the learning opportunities it offers.

This Web Skills course will help me acquire and master the necessary skills to take advantage of some of state of the art technologies in teaching.   I have always been undecided and unclear about my postgraduate major but this course has rekindled my passion for a master's degree in E-learning.

I hope you enjoy reading my first blog entry.   Comments and feedback are always welcomed and appreciated.

Love,
Ahmed
